THEIR MAJESTIES VISIT JAPAN

Their Majesties King Letsie III and Queen 'Masenate Mohato Seeiso left for Tokyo, Japan on an official visit on Saturday.

Speaking in an interview, the Deputy Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Thabang Lekhela said the visit is intended to enhance relations between the two countries.

He added that while in Japan, His Majesty will attend the Japan Summit where they will meet business community and investors.

He said Japan is one of Lesotho's development partners that have been working amicably for years, saying it has supported Lesotho on a lot of things citing an example of construction of schools.

Their Majesties will be in Japan until November 26 when they will then proceed to Rome, Italy to attend joint meeting which organized by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and World Health Organization (WHO), adding that His Majesty as the African Union Nutrition champion has been officially invited.

Meanwhile, Japan is reported to have given Lesotho 1500 metric tonnes of rice and recently it has put aside an approximated amount of M437 billion to assist African countries in the next three years.

His Majesty and his entourage include the Ministers of Trade and Industry, Mr. Joshua Setipa and of Health, Dr 'Molotsi Monyamane and will return to Lesotho on November 29.
