Five new cabinet ministers and three deputy ministers have been sworn in by Acting Chief Justice Ts'eliso Monaphathi in the presence of His Majesty King Letsie III, Prime Minister, Dr Motsoahae Thabane and his Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Monyane Moleleki at the Royal Palace on Wednesday.

The sworn in ministers are the Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Tsukutlane Au, Mr. Mokoto Hloaele who is Minister of Energy while Mrs. 'Mampho Mokhele was sworn in as Minister of Police and Public Safety, Minister of Law and Constitutional Affairs, Mr. Lebohang Hlaele and Mrs. 'Mamotsie Motsie who has been appointed Minister of Tourism, Environment and Culture.

Deputy Ministers who were also sworn in are Mr. Kotiti Diholo who is the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Chieftainship Affairs, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Dr Ntoi Rapapa and Mrs. Rethabile Marumo who is the Deputy Minister of Gender, Youth and Sports.

 The swearing in of the five ministers and three deputy ministers follows their appointed as Senators and were sworn in as members of the Upper House on Tuesday.

This brings the total number of cabinet ministers to 28 and eight deputy ministers of the third Coalition Government of Lesotho.
